Mountain Guides Association Nepal (MoGAN) is a non-profitable, non-political and non-government organization formed by the handful of mountain guides in the year 2021 AD. The org under the Nepal government NGO Act 2034 in District Administrative office Kathmandu, Nepal; with recommendation of Nepal Government Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Kathmandu.
To build up the adventure tourism industry in Nepal interfacing with the world giving fundamental preparing to mountain guides and overhauling their aptitude and learning under the Himalayas standard’s preparation and instruction ethical quality is principle objective of this association. This organization is set up with a target to join all Nepalese mountain guides engaged with mountaineering and build up their standard exercises in mountain guiding to give better value to the clients coming to Nepal and also provide help to the country through such prepared guiders.

The first successful Nepalese mountain guide is Tenzing Norgay. He has a mountain guide of Edmund Hillary in Mt. Everest expedition in 1953 AD.
Nepalese mountain guides called Sherpa’s by foriegn peoples.
The word ‘Sherpa’ is commonly used to describe someone who is a mountain guide or high altitude worker in the Himalayas. But Sherpa is actually the name of an ethnic group of people who live in the mountain areas of Nepal.
Sherpa’s are local people who are highly skilled and experience mountain guiding. They are doing such things as preparing for foreign climbers route and camp fixing the necessary climbing kit up the mountain.
Without mountain guides, most climbers would not be able to get up the mountain summit. British mountaineer Kenton Cool, who has climbed Everest 11 times, explains: “The mountain guides are so important.
They really are the backbone of any expedition. They’re local people, so they know the safety-security, culture, area, people and many things of the Himalayas.
