There are two types of mountain guide in Nepal.

1. Trainable Mountain Guide:

The first one is trainable Mountain guide who has successfully completed their Advance Mountaineering Training Exam conducted by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) which is standard mountain guide education module (certified by UIAA). They are eligible as major mountain guides involved in climbing and mountaineering expeditions at any mountains across Nepal, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina and Etc…… Now, they are government of Nepal certified mountain guides in Nepal.

2. Experience Mountain Guide:

Those mountain guides who have been working mountain expeditions since a long time without any training. They have been guiding lots of mountains with foreign people. They are eligible as major local mountain guides (as per traditional Mountain Guide) to involve in climbing and mountaineering expeditions at any mountains across Nepal, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina and Etc….
They could be a Trainable Mountain Guide after successfully completing Basic and Advance mountaineering training for a few years on the requirements with advance mountaineering training exam.
